  • TDK commit to Blu-ray


    In an interview the executive Jean-Paul Eekhout said that HD DVD has no chance and that the company decided to commit to the Blu-rau Disc format.
    Eekhout said, "We judged the Blu-ray Disc recordable and rewriteable product concepts to be the superior format in terms of capacity, durability and performance. TDK's core technology aligned very well with the BD-R/RE concepts and there exclusively supports the BD format."

  • Sony unveiled BWU-200S



    Sony unveiled the BWU-200S model that is a Blu-ray Disc writer who can burn discs twice as fast.
    The new BWU-200S record up to 50 GB of data or up to 230 minutes of high-definition HDV 1080i video on a BD-R/RE 50GB disc. Also it complete writing session of 50 GB in 45 minutes.

  • Acer claims first HD DVD- Blu-ray combination


    Acer claims the first HD DVD - Blu-ray combination to the market in its Aspire M5630 series. Now the new computers have a HD DVD or Blu-ray drive. It include a Hitachi-LG's dual-format drive, the GGC-H20N. It means that the machine of Acer can play both, HD DVD and Blu-ray drive.
    The Computer comes in Core 2 Duo E4500 and Q6600 flavours and has 2GB RAM and an ATI x2400 Pro 256MB PCIe graphics card. Also it has a HDCP compliant 22-inch LCD monitor.

  • Panasonic unveiled new Blu-ray and DVD recorders


    Panasonic has noticed three high-definition DVD recorders and three new Blu-ray Disc recorders. The new recorders are available in Japan on November 1st. The recorders offer the longest hours of full HD recording in the world. They can save up to 18 hours of full HD video on a 50 gigabyte double-layer Blu-ray Disc or up to 381 hours of full HD videos on a 1 terabyte built-in hard disk drive.
    The new Blu-ray recorders: DMR-BW900 with 1TB HDD, DMR-BW800 with 500GB HDD and DMR-BW700 with 250GB HDD
