LG present Blu-ray and HD DVD dual-format PC

The new LG LX97WH launched Blu-ray and HD DVD dual-format PC.
It is compatible with DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray discs which gives consumers the choice. Also costumers can use both formats.

Sharp release Blu-Ray player in UK

Next week Sharp will be released the Blu-Ray player, BD-HP20H. The price will be around £399 and offers "Qick Start" what promise a playback "within seconds".
Other Aspects are the energy saving features, support for HD sound formats with 5.1 output, HDMI 1.3 and playback of DVD-R, CD-R, DVD-RW and CD-RW discs. read more | Link | Trackback | 0 Comments

1TB Blu-ray Dics Recorders in Japan

Sharp want to bring the 1TB Blu-ray Disc Recorders to the Japanese market. BD-HDW20
with a capacity of 1 TB, which allow the recording of around 127 hours of digital high-definition programs. The price will be around $2600 and is available in this December.

DVD player won't successful

The research shows that consumers are confused by the format war. They are not expected to start buying the products, in volume, for another 18 month.
The formats have: "been fighting what seems to be a war of attrition for consumers' hearts and minds", says a study by Forrester Research.
Perhaps Blu-ray will become the dominant brand but until now it is too expensive. HD DVD has now dropped into a price band that consumers are comfortable with.
In the report J.P Gownder says that Blu-ray needs to offer a viable hardware model at the $250 price point by Christmas 2007. Forrester said typical costumers of high-definition televisions are not willing to pay more than $200 on average for a new HD DVD or Blu-ray player. read more | Link | Trackback | 0 Comments

Sharp presents the new Blu-Ray player

The new Blu-Ray player from Sharp,BD-HP20U will be available in the US after this month. The price will be around $550 for the Blu-ray player. The BD-HP20U has the features that are becoming the standard for other good quality player like HDMI 1.3.
The player also adds compatibility with the lossless audio formats and Aquos link.
