Woolworths drop HD-DVD from highstreet stores
Word in the sector is that Woolworths is going to drop the HD DVD format from their highstreet stores. This makes woolworths the first High Street retailer to solely back the Blu-Ray Disc brand. Xmas sales figures indicated that Blu-Ray out sold HD-DVD discs 10 to 1. HD-DVD will still be available to buy online but no available in any of the chains 820 retail outlets. Sources indicate that the decision has been driven by sales associated and inline with the installed user base of Blu-Ray players, thanks to the sales of PlayStation 3's. read more | Link | Trackback | 0 Comments
